Mark Allen Shamanism is a very ancient tradition. Can it help us in the modern world as well?
Brant Secunda Definitely. Shamanism has ancient solutions for the modern times. It's something to remember that shamanism is just as important, just as helpful today in the modern world as it has been, or was, in the ancient worlds or in ancient times. It's a way for us to keep in balance. That's how you can use shamanism today. It keeps you in balance. It helps you to find your life. It helps you to find strength. It helps you to find love. These are all qualities that we need today as we have for thousands of years. We all need love. We all need strength. We all need clarity for our life. Shamanism can definitely help you find this.
Mark Allen There's tools and practices that are very structured that help us to do this?
Brant Secunda Yes, there's many exercises we do. There are many tools of transformation that are employed by shamanic practitioners. There are many ways that shamanism can be important for people in the modern world and help transform people in the modern world. It's not my opinion. It just is that way.
Mark Allen Have we just forgotten to do some of these simple things?
Brant Secunda I think so. We've forgotten to live in balance. We've forgotten to honor our ancestors. We've forgotten to honor Mother Earth. We've just forgotten. We see water maybe as a place to dump garbage instead of remembering, "Hey, that water is sacred, that water is part of the consciousness of Mother Earth." We've just forgotten. The way we think or the way we perceive has been so radically changed lately, but we can change it back and we can use the tools of shamanism in our lives to bring about personal and planetary transformation.
Mark Allen It's a way to not only help ourselves, but our communities, our families?
Brant Secunda And our environment.
Mark Allen Are these practices complicated or are they fairly simple?
Brant Secunda No, they're very simple. They're profoundly simple we might say. You just go to a place on the Earth and make a pilgrimage, pray for the Earth, think good things for the Earth, live your life in harmony with the Earth or you make a ceremony for the Earth. You make a ceremony to help heal your family or yourself. These are all simple, simple tools of transformation that we can all practice.
Mark Allen It's going to the basics of who we all are as people it sounds like.
Brant Secunda Definitely.
Mark Allen Beautiful.
Brant Secunda Thank you.
