BRANT SECUNDA
Born in New York, Brant Secunda journeyed to Mexico at eighteen years old, where he was adopted by the late Don José Matsuwa, who put him through an intensive 12-year shaman apprenticeship.
For nearly 40 years now, Brant has been fulfilling the vision of his teacher; sharing the ancient wisdom of the Huichol around the globe.

Located alongside the Pacific Ocean and surrounded by majestic redwood forests, Santa Cruz is one of the world’s most unique and welcoming coastal destinations.
The region is home to a diverse variety of natural beauty and native marine animals –including sea otters, seals, dolphins, and whales –and is the perfect place to connect with the exuberant life-energy of Tate Haramara (Grandmother Ocean).

PILGRIMAGE TO GRANDMOTHER OCEAN
One of the highlights of the weekend is a pilgrimage to Haramara, Grandmother Ocean. Learn to approach places of power in a sacred manner. In turn, you have the opportunity to absorb the oceans powers of beauty, love, and clarity.
Pilgrimage is one of the most ancient practices to connect with the spirits of nature. It allows for an opening of communication; an opportunity to commune with the energy of a mountain, a lake or in this case, the sea.
