The Monterey Bay is a protected coastline along the west coast of California. The beautiful natural landscape draws both an abundance of wildlife and tourists from around the globe.

Just off the coast from where our workshop is held, the Monterey Canyon drops deep beneath the surface of the sea. It is one of the deepest underwater canyons in the world.

Whether you live near or far from the ocean, we all have an inherent connection to the sea. Life arose from the depths of the water and so we continue to draw upon the power of water to sustain our own lives.

The Workshop Experience

Pilgrimage to Grandmother Ocean

One of the highlights of the retreat is a pilgrimage to Haramara, Grandmother Ocean. Learn to approach places of power in a sacred manner. In turn you have the opportunity to absorb the beauty, love, and clarity; all powers of the ocean.

Pilgrimage is one of the most ancient practices to connect with the spirits of nature. It allows for an opening of communication; an opportunity to commune with the energy of a mountain, a lake or in this case, the sea.

Meditate on the healing sound of the crashing waves. Let the sound wash away negativity and make space for all things positive. Allow the sound of the ocean to bring healing to your soul.

The Huichol have traveled to the Ocean for thousands of years, in order to honor her life-giving power and to purify their body, heart and spirit.

Workshop Location

The workshop is held in Santa Cruz, CA along the Monterey Bay in a private conference center located steps from the beach.

If you plan on flying, the nearest airports are Monterey Regional Airport (approx. 40 min drive), San Jose International Airport (approx 1 hour drive) or San Francisco International Airport (approx. 1.5 hour drive).
